Removals to Altrincham
One thing about removals from Lytham St Annes, it always seems that retired folk use it as a stop gap from retiring from their job and moving to their final destination, 90 per cent tend to move closer to their siblings to keep a closer eye on them. This particular customer was no exception, the lady in question had reached that point and decided to move to a retirement home in Altrincham.
I dealt with her daughter on the removals survey, and it was agreed that they would do the packing for the move. After walking round we had to agree that the daughter would be happy doing the packing as her mother was not quite up to it, I was also surprised at how little there was to actually carry out the removal bearing in mind that elderly people tend to hoard quite a bit or even have some stashed away in storage units
The customer was happy to use us as their preferred removal company. I supplied the packing materials and the date was set. On the day of the removal it was straightforward enough, until we arrived at the delivery address, where the flat was on the first floor with a long walk. Another set back was that removals companies were not allowed to use the lift for transporting furniture.
However we had a chat with the manager and managed to persuade her to let us use it. Now this particular home was quite unique in the fact that most of the residents were in the communal lounge at teatime having a great time talking about football. As you can see in the photo they are having a fabulous time.
So nearly at the end of the move by now, our little old lady is quite getting into the swing of things now, as she started to unpack boxes.
By 3pm we were well on our way home.
